Our Story

Encore for Humanity exists to break the cycle of hunger and limited education in Malawi and beyond. By providing school meals, scholarships, and community empowerment programs, we create an encore for children: another chance, another opportunity, and a new stage to learn, grow, and thrive.

In 2025, our founder, Perla Hudson, traveled to rural Malawi to help build a primary school alongside local families. What she found was both inspiring and heartbreaking: children eager to learn, studying in dark classrooms on empty stomachs, some leaving school not for lack of ability, but because hunger and cost stood in the way.

Malawi is known as "the Warm Heart of Africa," a place defined not by scarcity, but by resilience, generosity, and a community that believes deeply in what its children can become. Encore for Humanity was born from a promise to return and to walk alongside that community for the long term.

This campaign is about creating a foundation for long-term change: expanding proven programs, empowering local communities, and ensuring that thousands more children have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Expand daily school meals to four primary schools, serving nearly 2,000 children daily
Launch comprehensive secondary education scholarships and mentorship pathways for promising students
Bring solar power and essential classroom resources to schools that need them most.
Create meaningful employment opportunities for local women while strengthening community-led education.
