While we do try our best to plan for every scenario sometimes it's just not possible. That means even though you're doing everything right, the stress of shelter life can be overwhelming and cause illness.

Sometimes kittens and cats make their way to us with existing problems.

Other times, it's about providing continued care and health maintenance during their stay. Here's just a few stories from the last few months you can read in each caption below their picture...

David is a 17+ year old cat from Colorado according to his microchip and he was found under car at a mobile home park in Monroe. Given his condition when we found him he required immediate ER care and is currently in foster care.

Ariel developed jaundice and spent a week in the hospital, but her $150 adoption fee doesn't cover her medical costs like the other cats here.

Ireland was found aborting her litter and had to have part of her ears removed due to frostbite.

Zeek beat FIP but later needed an eye removed due to chronic infections.

Stoney had a severe tail injury that required amputation.

Penelope and her sister were hospitalized for a severe URI and had to have supplemental oxygen for a couple days.

Delilah and her sister were hospitalized for a severe URI and had to have supplemental oxygen for a couple days.

Dove came to us with a dislocated jaw that was recently repaired.

Blizzard came to us after he was found to have a huge wound on his neck.

Star found his way to one of our volunteers a very sick jaundiced boy, after intensive care he now has a clean bill of health.

Maizee is a hospice foster. She has hyperthyroidism and has suspected gastric lymphoma. She requires special medications, food, and regular bloodwork.

Carter (Tabby) and Vincent (Black) are FeLV+ and required special bloodwork to confirm the diagnosis. They may need additional support while in our care

Parker (B/W) & Dusty (Tabico) both needed major dental work with multiple extractions.

Roger is currently in the hospital after an attack left his tail beyond saving.
