ADH Financial Empowerment Initiative is a Detroit-based nonprofit dedicated to helping underserved families achieve financial stability through financial education, workforce readiness, tax assistance, and essential support services.

Our Goal: Help More Teen Mothers Get Their Driver's Licenses!

Through our Essentials First Program, we want to help more teen mothers obtain their driver's licenses so they can access better employment opportunities, become more financially independent, and potentially qualify for vehicle purchase assistance through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), subject to program eligibility.

For many young mothers, transportation is one of the biggest barriers to employment. We're working to change that by helping them complete driver's education, obtain required documents, and cover licensing expenses.

Here's What Your Donation Can Cover:

$20 – A birth certificate needed to obtain a driver's license.
$50 – An enhanced driver's license.
$70 – A driver's license and essential birth certificate documents.
$100 – A driver's road test.
$250 – Segment 1 driver's education.
$500 – Both Segment 1 and Segment 2 driver's education.

The segment 1 and 2 drivers education classes will be provided by Wheel to Drive School located in Detroit, Michigan.

Our mission is bigger than helping a teen mother get her license. We want to help her secure employment, qualify for transportation assistance, increase her income, and build a financially stable future for herself and her child.
