Wear jeans with a purpose on Denim Day, Wednesday, April 30! Support survivors, educate yourself, and take a stand against sexual assault and victim-blaming.

Denim Day was established after a high-profile Italian sexual assault trial where the survivor was blamed for her assault because of the kind of jeans she was wearing.

We wear denim on Denim Day to combat the idea that sexual violence is the fault of the survivor – and we activate! Partner with us in providing ongoing toiletry and sanitary product support to the women of Priscilla’s House & Becky’s House in Montgomery County, MD.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was founded on November 12, 1922, in Indianapolis, Indiana, by seven young educators: Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little, Dorothy Hanley Whiteside, Vivian White Marbury, Nannie Mae Gahn Johnson, Hattie Mae Dulin Redford, Bessie Mae Downey Martin and Cubena McClure. The sorority was incorporated as a national collegiate sorority on December 30, 1929, when a charter was granted to Alpha chapter at Butler University. Sigma Gamma Rho remains today the only historically black sorority founded at a predominantly white college or university.
