We don't know how long Eugene has been suffering, but one look at his little face tells us he has been through far too much.

This poor little dog was found roaming the streets of Stratford today in heartbreaking condition. His eyes are severely compromised, his fur is filthy and matted, and he appears to have gone without the basic care every animal deserves.

We've named him Eugene, and right now, he's receiving veterinary care. We don't yet know the full extent of his medical problems or what treatment he will need, but we do know that we are going to do everything we can to give him a chance at a better life.

PLEASE HELP EUGENE BY DONATING TOWARD HIS MEDICAL CARE:

No animal should have to suffer like this. Eugene didn't deserve to be wandering the streets in this condition, and he certainly didn't deserve to be forgotten.

$5,000 REWARD OFFERED BY DESMOND'S ARMY!

Desmond's Army Animal Law Advocates is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Eugene's condition.

The reward is valid for 90 days and is subject to Desmond's Army's reward terms.

If you recognize Eugene, know who owns him, or have information about how he ended up in this condition, please contact Stratford Animal Care & Control at 203-385-4068 or acos@townofstratford.com.

Our Animal Care & Control Officers see heartbreaking cases far too often, but thanks to our incredible supporters and our nonprofit partner, Stratford Animal Rescue Society (STARS), animals like Eugene have a fighting chance.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps us provide emergency veterinary treatment, medications, and the care these innocent animals so desperately need.

Donations of $100 or more through Givebutter will receive a STARS supporter T-shirt mailed to them!

Eugene may have been alone on the streets this morning, but tonight he has an entire community standing behind him.

Please help us show this little guy that his life matters and that his best days can still be ahead of him.

Thank you for helping us help those who cannot ask for help themselves.
