Immediate Fund Needs - Evergreen Annual Fund

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, Western North Carolina faces unprecedented challenges. Every donation, no matter the size, directly impacts our students' lives and helps us remain a place of hope and resilience for our families and our staff. 

Though Evergreen is incredibly grateful that all our students, families, staff, and buildings are safe, the storm’s impact on the region and school community has been significant. As we all work to recover, Evergreen needs your help to ensure we are able to continue providing essential services to our students and vital support to all members of the school community. With the extraordinary personal and financial loss felt by so many, we do not feel it appropriate to ask our local community of donors for more than they have already given.

As you consider your donation, you will see an option to choose a particular designation for your gift. Our immediate funding priorities include:

• Financial assistance to support our families, many of whom are facing new and unforeseen hardships. These funds will be used to ensure all our students are able to participate in the important and impactful school experiences such as end of year trips and fieldwork so vital to creating a sense of normalcy and security for all students, regarding of their families’ ability to handle the associated costs. 

• Availability of healthy breakfasts and lunches for every student. This is more critical now than ever. Our food caterer suffered extensive damage and has had to close. Funds are needed to help our Nutrition Program with the increased meal costs as our partner works to rebuild their business. Support of our Nutrition Program will ensure all Evergreen students have access to the nutritious breakfast and lunch so important to learning, as well as mental and physical wellbeing. 

• General operating support to maintain the stability and quality of our programs.  While Evergreen may not have sustained structural damages, the school has incurred substantial financial impact as many of our local supporters have understandably changed their giving focus to area disaster relief, or are experiencing their own financial challenges.
