Several cats in our care have feline stomatitis a severe gum disease so painful they can barely eat or swallow. Each procedure costs $1,000 - $3,000. In most shelters, these cats are euthanized simply because their teeth hurt. At KitTea, we say no to that.

KitTea has been San Francisco's sanctuary for cats and humans since 2014 - the first cat lounge in the U.S., nestled in the Mission District, where rescue cats find peace, connection, and their forever homes.

In 11 years, we've re-homed 494 cats - seniors, shy souls, bonded pairs, and the ones other shelters overlooked. Every visit to our sunlit lounge directly funds the rescue, medical care, and re-homing of at-risk cats from underfunded Bay Area shelters.

Right now, KitTea is facing an urgent financial crisis. Without immediate community support, we cannot continue the work that has given hundreds of cats a second chance including the cats sitting in our lounge in pain today, waiting for the dental care that will let them eat, purr, and live without hurting.
