Hi, I'm Saanvi. In 2024 I stood outside Starbase and felt the sonic boom from an early Starship test. I kept thinking about all the kids who would never get to travel to Texas for that feeling. So I decided to bring the rockets to them.

Today Galactic Getaway is a 501(c)(3) that puts free, museum-quality 1:144 scale rocket exhibits in public libraries, colleges, and community centers across the Bay Area. Starship, SLS, Falcon Heavy, New Glenn, Ariane 6, and more. We deliver, install, and pick up. The host pays nothing. Visitors pay nothing. Every exhibit is free because of people like you.

What your support has already made possible

60,000+ people have stood in front of these rockets

19 exhibit stops across four counties, from Cupertino to Stanford to Tracy

18 rockets in 3 rotating sets, sourced from four countries

1,000+ volunteer hours

Preschool storytimes, hands-on workshops, and an international forum with students on two continents

I run this with no staff. I source the rockets, build the display cases, convince each library to say yes, install every exhibit, and lead the storytimes and workshops. A volunteer board helps with governance. The rest is me and the people who believe in this enough to give.

What your gift does next

$25 puts QR code signage on an exhibit so every kid can learn about each rocket

$100 fills a library storytime with workshop materials

$500 builds a display case that travels to venue after venue

$4,000 adds a full rocket set and opens up a whole new region

Each rocket set costs over $4,000 to source and ship. Donations go straight to new sets, display cases, workshop materials, and getting exhibits to communities that have never had one.

Our next milestone is 25 communities. We are at 18. Still on the list: San Francisco, the Peninsula, and the North Bay. Your gift today helps us get there.

Why you can trust us

Galactic Getaway holds the Candid Gold Seal of Transparency and has been recognized by the U.S. Congress, the Governor of California, the California Secretary of State, and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. Stanford Aeronautics and Astronautics hosted our 11-rocket exhibit and supported our randomized study on how people learn at exhibits.

Every dollar is tax deductible. Galactic Getaway Corporation, 501(c)(3), EIN 99-5112663.

Thank you for helping a kid somewhere look up.
