2025 has already seen an explosion of anti-trans rhetoric and laws being passed throughout the United States. Misinformation and disinformation continue to try to paint trans people as second class citizens that don't deserve the same rights and protections as others.

YDKP and the 23rd LD Democrats are proud to support and sponsor this informative training that will help increase:

Basic understanding of transgender terminology and WPATH Standards of Care.
Knowledge and scope of trans history throughout the ages.
Recognizing the various barriers that trans individuals must navigate in personal settings as well as navigating systems with limited resources.
Understand how to become a better ally and advocate.

We will also have a panel of people with lived experiences and service providers at the end of the training.

This training has been used by the Washington State Society of Clinical Social Work and would normally be approved for CEUs. However, knowledge should not be restricted or gate kept and will be offered for free with no CEUs given. This training is for allies, advocates, and family members of trans individuals as well as service providers who want a better understanding of how to provide culturally humble and trauma informed care. Trans individuals are more than welcome to attend as well!
