In 2012, our organization was born under the name of Woodlawn Theatre. After 11 years of entertaining, educating, and creating in the Deco District, we decided it was time for a change. In 2023, we moved and rebranded to Wonder Theatre.

Since then, Wonder Theatre has been proud to call our current space at the Wonderland of the Americas home. That move was a monumental step forward for our organization, one that came with a $1.5 million investment in our future.

Thanks to careful savings and the incredible generosity of our community, we were able to fund the majority of that cost. However, a portion required us to take on a long-term loan, originally structured to be paid off over 10 years.

We're proud to share that, because of the incredible generosity of this community and careful stewardship, we have already paid off more than 90% of our building debt. Today, only $100,000 remains.

That’s why we are launching our capital campaign: Exit Stage Debt.

Our goal is simple but powerful—to raise the remaining balance by the end of this year and take our final bow on this chapter.

This campaign will allow us to become more competitive in how we compensate our staff and artists. We can also begin planning for long-term expansion: more classrooms, more performance space, and more opportunities for our community.

Wonder Theatre is more than a building; it is a home for creativity, growth, and connection. With your support, we can continue to grow as a beacon for our community and a hub where all can experience the joy of musical theatre.
