Who was David Knapp and his powerful Legacy:

David’s legacy is huge. David was continually thinking of the next generations coming up and especially how to make society better for queer people – locally as an out gay elder along Connecticut’s Shoreline, statewide with groups like the Stonewall Speakers Bureau and the many organizations he sponsored around Connecticut, and nationally through his effort to make the Boy Scouts a more welcoming resource for both scouts and leaders and for that he was named an Out Magazine 100 most influential figures of 2013. He was also an early Dorothy Award winner.

Even with his passing, David will continue to serve as an example for how to live a robust life, how to be a decent person in the face of blatant discrimination, how your actions today can influence the next generations, and how important it is to share our good fortunes with the causes that offer a seat at the table for everyone. What a wonderful life indeed!
