Family Promise Week 2026: Take the Pledge. Keep the Promise.

Imagine a four-year-old boy curled in the backseat of a car, clutching his favorite action figure; the only thing he grabbed when his family was evicted. His mother, wrapped in her coat and worry, whispers "Goodnight, buddy," as headlights sweep across their makeshift bedroom. In Washington County, that scene isn't rare. It's a daily reality for too many families.

Family Promise of Greater Washington County (FPGWC) exists to change that by equipping families and vulnerable communities to end the cycle of homelessness, not just for a season, but for good. In 2025 alone, FPGWC provided 68,280 nights of shelter, served 582 children and caregivers, prevented 143 families from losing their homes altogether, and kept 98% of the families who complete our programs safely and stably housed.

This Family Promise Week, we're asking our community to do something simple: take the pledge. Every pledge made means a family in Washington County has a better chance at a stable home.

Here's what your pledge makes possible: $50 covers bedding and hygiene kits for a family's shelter stay. $100 furnishes a family's first apartment after shelter. $500 funds a full week of shelter and case management. And a $1,000 pledge alone can fund a month of case management and rental aid for a family working to rebuild.

We don't have to solve homelessness in Washington County by ourselves, if each of us keep our part of the promise. Take the pledge today and join the movement to help us keep it.
