Farnsworth students are walking for a cause! We are going to get exercise, promote school spirit, and hopefully raise some serious funds for our wonderful school. Money raised will be used to upgrade school technology, fund special programs, and more! Here are the different ways you can help:

Business or community organization: Your logo will be featured on our 2024 Farnsworth Walkathon T-shirt for a donation of $100 or more. Any and all donations are appreciated and will be highlighted on our social media sites and in school communications. If you donate $100 or more, please send your logo for the T-shirt to friendsoffarnsworthcps@gmail.com.
Student or parent: You can easily donate here and share this site with others in your family or community who want to support your student in the Walkathon. When donating, enter the student's name in the designated field so they can be in the running for the following incentives. Each student should have their own individual entries.
- Raise $300 or more: Be entered into a raffle for 1 of 2 Nintendo Switch Lites and get a 2024 Farnsworth Walkathon T-Shirt.
- Raise between $200 and $299: Be entered into a raffle for a $100 gift card for Ignite Gaming Lounge or Altitude Trampoline Park and get a 2024 Farnsworth Walkathon T-Shirt.
- Raise between $100 and $199: Be entered into a raffle for a $75 gift card for Target or Amazon and get a 2024 Farnsworth Walkathon T-Shirt.
- Raise $40 or more: Get a 2024 Farnsworth Walkathon T-Shirt.
- Top fundraising classroom: MOVIE PARTY!
All donations can be made electronically through this site. If you want to pay by check or cash, you may do so by entering your donation here, choosing the check/cash option, and submitting your donation to the school with the student's name attached. You may also enter using the paper form sent home in your child's backpack. Submit the completed pledge form and cash or check donation to your student's teacher.

Farnsworth Elementary School, located in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois is seeking support for our student Walkathon this October. The Friends of Farnsworth, a 501(c)(3) organization, along with the Farnsworth PTA are excited to welcome donors to help raise much-needed funds for our incredibly diverse and special school. We are looking for cash donations to support the students in their efforts to walk for Farnsworth!

Farnsworth is a public neighborhood school that hosts over 500 students from Pre-k to 8th grade and also hosts multiple cluster programs for students with special needs including low incidence, severe and profound, as well as students with visual impairments. We are truly a hidden gem of the northwest side. Farnsworth offers a safe and nurturing environment and is committed to providing an inclusive education with rigorous, differentiated instruction designed to engage all learners.

Our parent volunteers understand the importance of organizing fundraising events such as the Walkathon to offset ongoing budget cuts and lack of funding for public schools. Furthermore, more than 50% of our student population is classified as low income, so we turn to our wider community for additional financial support. This is why we are asking YOU to help bridge the gap! With your support, we will be able to bolster resources for our staff and support our 500+ students in their journey to become lifelong learners and contributing community members. Classroom technology, resources, books, and enrichment programs are just some examples of how fundraising dollars will be spent.
