Who We Are

One Blood Movement of Unity (OBMOU) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Coach Fred Foreman Sr. and Donu Foreman right here in our community. We were built on one simple belief: that no matter your background, your zip code, or your story, you are worthy of support, dignity, and opportunity.

OBMOU exists to feed the hungry, mentor our youth, and bring people together across every line that divides us. We are not just an organization. We are a movement.

Location: 436 E Main St. Clayton, NC 27520

How It Started

Coach Fred spent years watching good people struggle alone. Families going without meals. Young people with no one in their corner. Communities fractured by circumstances that felt bigger than any one person could fix.

He and Donu decided they were not going to wait for someone else to solve it. Together, they built OBMOU from the ground up, pouring their time, their resources, and their hearts into serving the people around them. What started as a small act of service grew into something far bigger than either of them imagined.

What We Have Done

Over the past ten years, OBMOU has:

•Fed more than 30,000 community members

•Mobilized over 1,200 volunteers

•Mentored more than 350 young people

•Completed 58 community projects

Every number behind those stats is a real person. A child who had someone believe in them. A family that did not go to bed hungry. A neighbor who felt seen.

What We Do

OBMOU serves and strengthens our community through seven core programs.

Youth Mentorship and Intervention guides at-risk youth through education, leadership development, accountability, conflict resolution, and positive decision-making.

Community Feeding Programs provide nutritious meals and support to families, seniors, and individuals experiencing hardship.

Homeless Outreach connects individuals experiencing homelessness with meals, essential resources, encouragement, and pathways toward stability.

Community Unity and Understanding Workshops bring people from different backgrounds and walks of life together to build relationships, strengthen understanding, and create a more connected community.

Senior Support Services helps ensure our elders remain connected, supported, valued, and never forgotten.

Family Empowerment equips parents and caregivers with practical tools and resources to strengthen their homes and families.

Advocacy and Community Organizing gives a voice to community needs, connects people with resources, and works alongside local partners to create meaningful and lasting change.

At the heart of everything we do is one simple belief: we may come from different backgrounds, but we are one community, and together we can make a difference.

Why Thanksgiving Matters

For many families, Thanksgiving is a time of gathering, laughter, family, and a table filled with food. But for thousands of people in our communities, that experience is not guaranteed.

That is why this meal matters.

For more than a decade, One Blood Movement of Unity has brought people together to make sure families, seniors, individuals experiencing homelessness, and neighbors facing difficult times can enjoy a warm Thanksgiving meal with dignity.

This is about more than turkey, mashed potatoes, and a plate of food. It is about reminding someone that they are seen, they are valued, and they are not alone.

This year, we are preparing to serve up to 10,000 Thanksgiving meals throughout Johnston, Wake, and surrounding communities. Every meal is prepared and distributed through the generosity of donors, volunteers, businesses, churches, and community partners who believe no one should be forgotten during the holidays.

And here is what makes your gift powerful:

Just $3.09 can provide one person with a complete Thanksgiving meal.

$30.90 can help feed 10 people.
$154.50 can help feed 50 people.
$309 can help feed 100 people.
$3,090 can help feed 1,000 people.

Whether you give enough for one meal or one thousand, every gift puts food on a plate and reminds someone that their community cares.

Help us put 10,000 meals on 10,000 plates this Thanksgiving.

One meal. One person. One community.
