They survived 199 days of shelling. Now they need our help to survive the winter.

Just 15 miles from the Russian border, Feldman Ecopark in Kharkiv became trapped in the line of fire after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Hundreds of animals were killed. Much of the Ecopark’s infrastructure, animal enclosures, and rehabilitation facilities were destroyed. Six employees and volunteers lost their lives while trying to rescue the animals.

And still, the team kept coming back.

They returned under fire to feed, treat, rescue, and evacuate the animals. Through an extraordinary rescue effort, 4,750 animals and birds were saved and moved to safer locations.

Today, Feldman Ecopark is coming back to life. Animals are gradually returning. Rescue operations continue. The Ecopark is once again becoming a place of recovery and hope for both animals and people affected by the war.

But winter is coming.

From November 2026 through March 2027, thousands of animals will need a reliable supply of food, daily care, and essential support to make it safely through the five-month Ukrainian winter.

Future for Ukraine is raising $350,000 to help Feldman Ecopark sustain this work through the winter.

Approximately $175,000 will provide animal food for five months. The remaining funds will support other documented winter survival needs required to maintain essential animal care and critical operations.

For thousands of animals, this means something very simple:

food in their bowls, care every day, and the chance to stay safe through another winter of war.

If contributions exceed the campaign’s $350,000 goal, all additional funds will continue to support food, veterinary care, and other essential needs of the animals at Feldman Ecopark.
