Who are we?

Hello, my name is Abigail Johnson. I'm an American living in California organizing in solidarity with the people of Palestine. I've published hundreds of videos to my Tiktok channel (@itsjustafuntiktok) promoting fundraisers for Ghazzawi families and humanitarian organizations to support the civilian population in Gaza. Feeding Gaza's Future is a project spearheaded by my friend Mohammed from Gaza who currently lives in a refugee tent camp in north Gaza.

Mission Statement

Feeding Gaza's Future strives to ensure a Palestinian future in the Gaza Strip by providing 400 families living in one north Gaza refugee camp with food and other basic necessities.

Previous Work

November 15, 2025

No distribution today, just the unfortunate news that the camp has entirely flooded from the recent downpours in Gaza. Look at how many people are walking through this calf-high water barefoot. The weather in Gaza isn't tropical; it's temperate. It's cold there right now, and many many families in and out of our camp do not have the resources to stay warm and dry because Israel continues to obstruct the import of more permanent shelter to Gaza and what little is available in the markets is extremely expensive.

We distributed period pads throughout the camp. These are another basic necessity restricted by Israel's criminal blockade, intended to humiliate those in Gaza who need them. For this reason we distributed them for free throughout the camp.

November 6, 2025

While some food has entered since the ceasefire, the quantity is not enough to rehabilitate the Gaza population ( half of whom are children) after months of deliberate engineered famine. Furthermore, Israel is deliberately blocking healthy food from entering. The majority of what enters is nutritionally low food. For this reason, we distributed fruit.

We were able to provide this elderly woman living on the streets nearby with a tent. Mohammed informed me this is the highest quality tent available in Gaza. And that many organizations had promised the woman a tent, but only FGF was able to secure her one.

We distributed knafeh: a popular shredded phyllo dough dessert in Mediterranean and Arab countries with several variations. This version was fried with cream and sugar, and then soaked with syrup.

September 15 - October 10, 2025

Our team of organizers were temporarily displaced from the north to outside Khan Younis during Israel's genocidal invasion of Gaza City. While nearly a month in the south they prepared a new campsite to distribute food from, but before they could begin, the ceasefire was announced and they decided to return to their home city in the north. The investments made to the land, namely several toilets, yards of hose, and planted crops did not go to waste, however, as several other displaced families who were initially sleeping on the streets were able to move into the campsite shortly after our organizers left.

Included in today's cleaning package: clothing detergent, dishwashing soap, dishwashing sponges, feminine pads, earpicks, handsoap, body wash, laundry scent fresheners, toothpaste, toothbrushes, clotheslines, and hair removal wax.

Included in today's ingredients package: salt, ramen, canned corn, sunflower oil, yeast, and all-purpose flour. Mohammed told me the children were especially excited to receive the ramen and corn because they are still scarce and expensive.

Due to the relative abundance of food in the markets recently (don't get it twisted Gaza is still starving, but the inadequate amount of commercial goods allowed into the Strip via truck [NOTE: the airdrops are literally worse than nothing] is still better than nothing) we've been able to start distributing packages of ingredients instead of pre-made food. This allows families to cook their own meals to their own preferences and tastes. In this package we included: lentils, rice, chickpeas, pasta, sauce, canned meat, sugar, and feta cheese.

Typically Maamoul cookies are only eaten during celebrations like Eid, but Mohammed and I agreed that the continuation of food distribution and the survival of the families in the camp after one of the most serious periods of famine in the genocide was absolutely cause for celebration. Shoutout to the fabulous mothers who we employ as chefs and bakers. Women are the center their communities and make everything we do possible.

Mohammed distributed pizza and everyone was very excited for it.

We distributed spiced rice in the camp today. Due to the lack of plates, bowls, and plastic containers, the pots of rice were transported throughout the camp instead of distributed via portions to each tent.

August 16, 2025

We were FINALLY able to distribute again. These are cheese, tomato, and thyme pastries.

$100,000 Update (July 29, 2025):

Never in my wildest dreams did I think this initiative would raise this much money. We are still distributing food inside the camp, but due to the incredible scarcity of food, Mohammed is still distributing bags of flour to the most vulnerable families without photography because he cannot find enough food to feed everyone in the camp. Your donations allow us to support the families of amputees, pregnant or nursing mothers, the blind, the deaf, and other vulnerable people inside the camp and ensure that we are prepared to purchase large quantities of aid when it is reintroduced to the Gaza Strip, inshallah, very soon.

Currently, the deliberately engineered scarcity of food in Gaza is still dire and killing, on average, a dozen innocent civilians every day. The daily starvation death toll will inevitably rise the longer the starvation blockade is allowed to continue. Despite a recent and marked shift in the tone of coverage from legacy media, the situation is not improving, and the people of Gaza still need your voices to demand the end of their starvation. Words and actions must accompany donations. Mohammed and I thank you so much for your generosity and humanity.

A Message from Mohammed (July 20, 2025):

Dear Friends,

My name is Mohammed. I live in one of the refugee camps in Gaza, and from here "Feeding Gaza's Future" was born--a project I started with my friend Abby from the U.S. to bring food to as many families in need as possible.

Thanks to your compassion and generous support, we've been able to feed 400 families so far. We tried to ensure that everyone could receive food every day or every other day. But now, the situation has become unimaginable harsh.

Today, prices in Gaza have reached levels beyond comprehension: a kilo of flours costs $100; a kilo of lentils is $80; a kilo of rice is $80.

Because of this insane inflation, our purchasing power has dropped, and donations have slowed down. But we haven't stopped. Right now I'm focusing only on helping families in the camp where I live--people I know personally, many of whom are injured and struggling to survive. I'm helping a small number of families with whatever little I can, but I do it quietly, without filming or posting because even just showing that I'm giving help would bring dozens of families to my door, and I simply don't have the means to help them all.

I'm sharing this update with full honesty. We can continue, but only with your help. Every donation, no matter how small, becomes a hot meal, a bag of flour, or hope in the heart of a mother waiting to feed her children.
