What does fair housing mean to you?

Right now, so many people are struggling with housing.

People with disabilities are encountering barriers to housing. Homebuyers are trying to make sense of mortgages and lending. And families and individuals continue to face discrimination because of who they are.

These are not just housing issues. They are people's lives.

Fair Housing Touches All of Us

It may mean a young mother looking for a home for her children. A senior whose rent has become unaffordable. A person with a disability who needs an assistance animal. A family facing racial discrimination. A couple purchasing a home who deserves fair treatment in the mortgage and lending process.

It may mean a family relying on Section 8 housing assistance, a person whose housing stability is affected by Medicaid changes, or a homeowner seeking mortgage counseling and answers to questions about lending.

It may also mean a municipality seeking to understand its fair housing responsibilities, a landlord wanting to comply with the law, or a developer working to create housing opportunities for people of different backgrounds and abilities.
