“Finding Our Voices” will follow a cohort of survivors as they embark on a series of art sessions designed to help them process their past and reclaim their voices. Through painting, collage, and other creative mediums, they express what words alone cannot capture. Before and after each session, we hear their stories—where they’ve been, what they’ve endured, and how art is shaping their healing journey. This documentary offers an intimate window into the power of creativity to transform pain into strength, revealing the resilience of the human spirit.

We’re telling a different story—one of hope, beauty, and life after trauma. As a team of women passionate about uplifting women’s stories, Farsighted Creative is dedicated to capturing this journey with intimacy and care. We focus on the healing—the laughter shared in a workshop, the quiet intensity of a painter lost in creation, the emotions that surface and shift through the act of making. This is a story not of what was lost, but of what is being rebuilt—one stroke at a time.

What is the Money For?

We’re raising funds to complete post-production and launch our impact campaign for this project. Your support will directly fund editing, color, sound, and finishing costs so we can share this film with the world as soon as possible. It will also fuel our impact campaign, helping us partner with survivor advocates, host community screenings, and spark meaningful conversations about healing and reclaiming agency.

Distribution & Ownership

Following the impact campaign, Finding Our Voices (501c3) will take ownership of the film, ensuring its continued reach and impact. The documentary will be used at their events, on their website, and as a resource for survivors, therapists, and advocacy groups. This long-term distribution strategy will allow the film to serve as an ongoing tool for education, healing, and community engagement.

The Team

Maggie Hartmans (Co-Director/Producer): Maggie Hartmans is an indie filmmaker and co-founder of Farsighted Creative, a production company dedicated to telling meaningful stories that inspire empathy and a hopeful vision for tomorrow. After making her first feature film in 2014 while juggling film school and full-time work as a production manager, she spent three years in LA as an award-winning writer, commercial producer, and screenwriting teacher. In 2018, she shifted to documentary production, fulfilling a lifelong dream of using cinematic storytelling to shift culture and drive change. She has since produced documentary podcasts, short films, episodic series, and commercial content promoting sustainable brands.

Brittany Hart (Co-Director/Producer): Brittany Hart is a creative who’s dedicated to authentic storytelling. After three years of gaining valuable experience at a documentary production house, she produced her first narrative short film in 2019.
In 2020, Brittany ventured to co-found Farsighted Creative, a production company focused on creating meaningful and culture-shifting content. She has since produced podcasts, short films, documentaries, episodic series, and commercial content focused on promoting sustainable and ethical brands. Her passion is to tell meaningful stories that encompass the human experience and promote a more empathetic world.

Chloe Wittry (Cinematographer): Chloe Wittry is a videographer and visual storyteller who partners with individuals, brands, and small businesses to bring their unique stories to life through film. With a personable and collaborative approach, she is passionate about creating media that feels both authentic and artful. Known for her friendly and relational style, Chloe is deeply invested in every step of the creative process—from concept to final edit—ensuring each project reflects the heart and vision of her clients.

Helena Grunsteidl (Cinematographer): Helena Gruensteidl is a Denver-based Director, Cinematographer, and FAA-certified drone operator passionate about telling stories that move people. They’ve directed and shot films for Google, The North Face, BBC, The Kellogg Foundation, Hoka, and Novartis, with work featured at Oscar-qualifying festivals worldwide. Known for their thoughtful, intentional approach, Helena believes the best filmmaking happens long before stepping on set—through collaboration, preparation, and vision. Dedicated to creating safe, inclusive sets, they strive to bring underrepresented stories to life with authenticity and care.
