Dear Family and Friends,

After much prayer, discussion, and seeking the Lord’s direction, we believe God has shown us the first outreach focus for Finish the Work Ministry.

Finish the Work Ministry exists to be the hands and feet of Jesus, one community at a time. Our focus is to serve underserved rural communities in Cuba and the Dominican Republic, especially small towns where practical help and gospel work are deeply needed.

As we begin, our first and greatest request is for prayer. Please pray that God will give wisdom, open the right doors, guide us to the communities where help is most needed, provide faithful local leaders and Bible workers, and prepare hearts to receive His Word.

Our first step is to listen. With the help of local leaders and nearby church administration, we will assess the most urgent needs in each community. We will prayerfully organize those needs and identify practical ways to help the greatest number of people.

One of the first ways we plan to serve is by helping meet physical needs through food support. As funds are available, fresh produce and non-perishable food items will be purchased and distributed to families in need.

After helping meet an urgent physical need, we will invite individuals and families to a home church where their spiritual needs can also be cared for. This work will be supported by a trained Bible worker who can welcome, teach, encourage, and follow up with those who desire to learn more.

Guests who attend will receive Bible-based literature, and regular attendees will have the opportunity to receive a Bible after attending the first set of evangelistic meetings, as many people long to have their very first Bible. Guests will also receive a warm and personal invitation to begin Bible studies.

At the completion of Bible study courses, baptisms will be prayerfully planned for those who make that decision and desire to follow Christ.

The Bible foundation for this ministry comes from Matthew 24:14, which reminds us that the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world, and Matthew 9:35-36, where Jesus saw the multitudes with compassion.
