Preserve Amherst Lake Association (PAL) is a community association seeking members and support to preserve the lake starting with saving its dam. PAL is incorporated in the state of Vermont and has 501c3 status as a nonprofit organization.

In December 2022 PAL legally acquired the dam, and is now working hard on a plan for its restoration. This is a community effort for a community benefit that cannot be accomplished or sustained without a collective solution and shared commitment. Our goal is to fix the dam to bring back water levels and restore the beauty and enjoyment of the lake as we know it.

We have a duty owed to each other and to the environment we share. We believe that we are doing what's best for the lake and for the community by beginning our preservation and long-term stewardship with saving the dam.
