Since 2006, the Florida Courier has shone a journalistic light on the people, places and things of interest primarily to Black Floridians. With distribution of hard copies in predominantly African American communities in every major city in Florida, we have established ourselves as the state’s largest single Black-owned media outlet.

We have been there to inform you and even challenge you intellectually on a weekly basis. The Florida Courier will continue to be an advocate for your community’s voiceless, just as we always have.

Our dramatically increased online readership during the coronavirus crisis indicates that you’re still reading the newspaper even though you can no longer pick up the print issue at your place of worship, favorite Black-owned business or from other public places.

As we now know, the crisis has disrupted every facet of small business activity in the nation. Our newspaper operation is no different.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought serious distress to local economies, and advertising along with them. Due to the pandemic, we are looking at different revenue streams to ensure that we can continue our coverage of the crisis.

Therefore, we are asking our readers to consider making tax-deductible donations directly earmarked for our coverage of COVID-19. No donation is too small.

Contributions to this fund will help pay for resources so that our team of journalists who live and work around the state can continue to provide important news and information as a public service during this unprecedented crisis.

We also invite business owners to advertise and partner with us as we continue to serve communities disproportionally affected by the virus.

LMF is raising funds for educational activities; specifically, to educate the public on COVID-19 issues. LMF is providing funds to this news organization and many others to support this important educational project.
