Friends of Music (FOM) is the Needham High School - and now High Rock and Pollard - Performing Arts Booster Organization, dedicated to nurturing and supporting music and theater programs for our kids. We strengthen and support programming, bolstering the joy and growth that participation in the performing arts can bring. If your student participates in band, jazz band, orchestra, chamber, chorus, chorale, a Capella, a Pollard or High School theatrical production, FOM supports your student and needs your help!

FOM touches hundreds of students every year, helping them develop their talents, skills, confidence and discipline. Every year, FOM:

Awards grants to teachers for exciting and unique extra-curricular and in-class programs, workshops and special guests to enrich student experiences. Last year our grants included:
- A masterclass for Mr. Martin's (our new bandleader) students
- Professional pit musician support for musical performances
- Jazz Night support
- A new, usable, water fountain at Newman for performers to use
- New choral folders for chorus groups
Pays for professional sound engineers at concerts, including A Capella, to ensure singers can be heard
Manages publicity for musicals, concerts and the school play
Coordinates meals and cast and crew photo galleries during the four major theatrical productions
Awards thousands of dollars in college scholarships to graduating seniors

FOM depends on the generosity of donors like you, who make it possible for us to continue to enrich NHS students’ performing arts experiences. Performing arts participation fees are minimal or non-existent. Donations are managed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents. 100% of your donation goes toward student programming and is tax deductible.
