Event Information

The Junior League of Cedar Rapids® (JLCR) is excited to celebrate 90 years of service to the Cedar Rapids community with an anniversary gala like no other! Our event will take guests on a journey through the history of Cedar Rapids as seen through the lens of the Junior League. Join us for an evening of celebration, reflection, and gratitude as we recap 90 years of community-driven work and raise money to support current and ongoing community initiatives. Please note that Fostering Strength is an evening gala this year. Dress to impress!

From Playtime Poppy and the Science Station to the Madge Phillips Center and Leadership for Five Seasons, JLCR's history of impact runs deep. Cedar Rapids would not be the same without the contributions The Junior League has made in this community.

Our Goal

In our 90th year, we have set the ambitious goal of raising $90K for 90 years. Our fundraising efforts will not only be utilized to support JLCR's leadership development programming and Bridging the G.A.P. but also to support five community initiatives that honor the contributions of the women before us and build upon their legacy of community impact.

Bridging The G.A.P. is JLCR's decade-long program aimed at providing crucial resources and advocacy to foster youth, particularly those aging out of the foster care system in Linn County. We do this through providing meals bi-weekly for foster youth in the AMP (Achieving Maximum Potential) program, housing assistance, scholarships, and "Apartment In A Suitcase". "Apartment In A Suitcase" provides young adults aging out with household essentials and hygiene products to get them started as they transition to a new normal.

The additional five initiatives were selected because they support past and current JLCR projects that continue to have impact and/or contribute to the betterment of our community. These initiatives/programs include:

The Cedar Rapids Public Library 'Inspiring Big Dreams' capital campaign
Metro High School
The Cedar Rapids Parks Foundation
Waypoint

This year, JLCR is offering a special opportunity for our 90th anniversary gala: our "Friend of the Junior League" sponsorship! This level is a special and meaningful way to honor those who have paved the way for so much community change. By becoming a Friend of JLCR, donors will receive:

Active/Sustainer name and class year recognition on website.
Acknowledgement during evening program.
Post-event recognition on social media.
Recognition at JLCR’s Annual Meeting in May.
Event tickets are not included but may be purchased separately.
