Behind every harvest are farmers who rise with the sun, tend the soil, save the seeds and nurture the ecosystems that sustain us all. This fundraiser is our way of giving back to the stewards of the land-- the hands that grow our food and our future. By contributing, you're helping nourish the people who nourish our communities.

Nestled between woods and waters on 730 acres of forested ridgelines, Teravana has become a sanctuary for those seeking reconnection with nature and with the deeper rhythms that sustain life. The Kashaya Pomo land reminds us that regeneration is not a concept; it is a lived practice. And none live that practice more intimately than our region’s farmers.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to help us honor and uplift the earth stewards of our local food system (our farmers, ranchers, ecologists, seed savers, orchardists, gardeners, and land workers) through The Farmers Confluence Retreat and an ecosystem of care designed specifically for their wellbeing.

Every day, these individuals rise before the sun to nurture soil, grow nourishment, and protect our ecological future. Yet the weight they carry -- physical, financial, emotional, climatic -- is heavier than most will ever know. Burnout, injury, isolation, economic and climate-driven stress are widespread in agricultural communities. And still, they keep tending, showing up, and regenerating life for all of us.

At Teravana, we believe that those who care for the land deserve spaces that care for them.

In Spring 2026, up to 150 local land stewards will gather at Teravana for two days of rest and reconnection. The retreat brings together a cross-section of Sonoma County’s food and land system (farmers and ranchers, foresters and fire ecologists, food producers and rural leaders) to pause, breathe, and remember that they are part of a larger community.

Through shared meals featuring local ingredients, community conversations, mindfulness practices, restorative bodywork, and time held gently by the forest, participants will reconnect with the inner resources that make sustainable land stewardship possible.

They will also leave with tangible support:

Free mental health and wellness resources
Access to the Sanctum × Teravana Regenerative Agriculture Membership
Family retreat vouchers for continued restoration
A growing community anchored in long-term collaboration

Beginning this winter, up to 50 regenerative agriculturalists will receive six months of professional, accessible, and culturally attuned wellbeing support through our collaboration with Sanctum Care. This includes:

Mindful movement created with farm worker bodies in mind
Guided meditation and nervous system reset practices
Monthly live Q&A with master seed steward and entrepreneur Don Tipping of Siskiyou Seeds
Always-on community forum for peer support and resource-sharing
Monthly office hours with expert faculty in movement, stress resilience, systems design, and communications

Together, these offerings form a bridge between the spring retreat and an ecosystem of care. One that meets farmers not only in moments of burnout, but in everyday life, amidst seasonal demands and shifting weather windows.

To make this retreat accessible and to ensure farmers can participate without financial strain we are raising $49,220 to cover:

$12,000 in farmer stipends [Because we aim for equitable access to farmers and hope to provide stipends for folks taking time off from their farms.]
$22,000 for mental health and professional development services (6 months) [The equivalent of less than $75/mo. for both mental health and professional development services for each farmer.]
$7,000 for meals created from local ingredients
$6,000 for shuttle transportation to and across our 730-acre ridge
$2,220 for cleaning and care of shared spaces

Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports those who nourish us.

Your generosity fuels rest, restoration, and renewal for the people who feed us, protect our soils, steward biodiversity, and carry the legacy of land-based wisdom forward.

Together, we can co-create a Sonoma County where no farmer has to choose between caring for the land and caring for themselves.

Thank you for standing with the stewards who stand for us.
