This fall 2022, Help us Foster the Movement and fuel home-like environments to equip, connect, and advocate for those experiencing the foster care system and actualize our vision that holds space in the in-between to serve foster, kinship, and reunifying families.

When a child enters care, they leaves the only home they have known to join a place they've never seen. What happens next is a series of unknowns for all involved. Foster Village Charlotte has created a two side-by-side home-like resource centers that serve as a haven during the in-between for the child, foster/kinship family, and the first family.

Equips caregivers with necessities and resources, such as Welcome Packs, carseats and sensory tools so they can focus on helping the children in their care thrive.

Connects more caregivers together through educational and emotional support, such as support groups, one-on-one calls, trainings, mentorship and family gatherings so that caregivers are strengthened and empowered to continue fostering.

Advocates for a sacred space for biological family visitations, tangible support during reunification, and ongoing, committed relationships between birth parents and foster parents bringing dignity to the children and families we serve.

Foster Village Charlotte (FVC) works across agencies to provide support and resources for foster, kinship, and reunifying families. Founded in 2018 by four foster moms, FVC’s mission is to create connections with dignity for children and families experiencing foster care by meeting urgent needs, providing educational and emotional support, and advocating as a collective community voice for children. FVC believes that strengthening the families and systems that surround a child experiencing foster care leads to a resilient next generation that breaks the cycle of childhood adversity.
