Foster Village Charlotte began as a grassroots movement to meet the personal needs of four foster parents but quickly multiplied into a common theme seen in all the foster and kinship families they met. There were clear dots to connect inside a messy system and a vision was born to create a bridge between the needs of those caring for children in foster care and those with a desire to help.

In 2022, Foster Village Charlotte expanded to two centers, allowing us to create the multi-use Connection Cottage, a trauma-informed and inviting home-like environment that creates a dignified and inviting space for children and families.

It's a place where children go to be with volunteers when foster and kinship parents are in a FVC support group.

It's where a child visits their sibling separated in another foster home.

It's where we welcome parents to visit with their children while working to reunify.

Foster Village Charlotte creates a connection with dignity for children and families experiencing foster care by meeting urgent needs, providing educational and emotional support, and advocating as a collective community voice for children.
