In collaboration with the Red Barn's Church of Music, The Rockford Grange in Hood River is excited to announce a special night of music on October 25 with Jeffrey Foucault and Garett Brennan.

This will be a seated show in the historic grange featuring two songwriters from opposite coasts that met at The Red Barn in May 2024 through their dear friend, Portland based guitarist Jon Neufeld (Martha Scanlan, Dolorean, Black Prairie). Garett and Jon will play the first set and Jeffrey will play the second set with his trio that he'll be touring the west coast with in support of his most recent release, The Universal Fire.

About Jeffrey Foucault

In two decades on the road Jeffrey Foucault has become one of the most distinctive voices in American music, refining a sound instantly recognizable for its simplicity and emotional power. A series of high-voltage performances cut live in one room, the album is both a working wake – Foucault lost his best friend and drummer Billy Conway, to cancer in 2021 – and a meditation on the nature of beauty, artifact, and loss.

Augmenting Foucault's all-star band with members of Calexico and Bon Iver (drummer John Convertino and producer/saxophonist Mike Lewis) THE UNIVERSAL FIRE sets Conway’s death against the massive 2008 fire at the Universal Studios lot in California that destroyed the master recordings of some of our bedrock American music, to interrogate ideas about mortality, legacy, meaning, and calling.

About Garett Brennan

Garett Brennan is an Oregon-based songwriter, singer and instrumentalist. His solo work explores the far intimate corners of the acoustic, roots and Americana worlds. His side project work with pigWar explores the fringe boundaries of soul and psychedelic rock. Over the years he has collaborated and shared stages with Jon Neufeld, Teddy Presberg, the Foghorn Stringband, Scott Law, Eli West, Tony Furtado, The Hackles, Anna Tivel, Reed Foehl and The Horsenecks. His live performances are undeniably authentic and raw.
