Our Mission - Our mission is to inspire hope, confidence, and resilience in young women through equestrian training, life skills development, and service at the barn with principles from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People integrated throughout.

Our Curriculum - Bridle Up Hope is an Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) program for girls and women. Our proprietary curriculum is based on the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey, so participants learn to apply the 7 Habits at the barn and in their personal lives.

Our Story - Bridle Up Hope was founded in 2012 by Sean and Rebecca Covey, in memory of their daughter, Rachel, who struggled with depression for many years, but found great fulfillment in helping other girls find hope through equestrian training. In 2026, driven by the same desire to help others and make a difference, Liz Howell established Bridle Up Hope: Grand Junction, Colorado.

Bridle Up Hope Grand Junction will serve girls and women ages 12 and up who are:

Seeking confidence or connection
Facing transitions or adversity
Experiencing mental health challenges
Balancing work, family, social pressures, etc.
Looking for purpose or interested in pursuing a new hobby
Interested in equine interaction and outdoor activities

Through mentorship, the healing power of horses, and hands-on service, the program will:

Build confidence and life leadership skills
Foster community responsibility and connection
Reduce at-risk behaviors
Provide access to equine experiences
Enhance quality of life for participants and families
