AIM — the Academy for Innovation in Medicine — was created to address two urgent challenges facing Metro Atlanta: unequal access to high-quality educational opportunity and a growing healthcare workforce crisis.

Opening in July 2026, AIM will become Georgia’s first healthcare-focused STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) middle and high school, designed to prepare students for high-demand medical careers while expanding pathways to economic mobility for Atlanta families.

The need for this work is significant. Georgia currently faces more than 40,000 unfilled healthcare jobs, with shortages projected to grow dramatically over the next decade. Metro Atlanta is especially impacted, experiencing both workforce shortages and some of the widest disparities in health outcomes and economic opportunity in the nation.

AIM was built in direct response to these challenges.

Through partnerships with Grady Health System, industry leaders, and higher education institutions, AIM will provide students tuition-free access to:

Healthcare-focused STEMM instruction
Dual enrollment and early college opportunities
Industry certifications
Clinical exposure and work-based learning
Real-world preparation for living-wage healthcare careers

Students will begin exploring healthcare pathways as early as middle school and graduate with college credit, workforce credentials, and meaningful career experience — all at no cost to families.

Founding Supporters will help establish the spaces where students learn, collaborate, innovate, and prepare for careers in medicine and healthcare. Your support will directly contribute to the sustainability of AIM’s launch and ensure that students across Metro Atlanta have access to transformative educational and career opportunities.
