To assist families at risk of or experiencing homelessness to achieve sustainable independence by providing person-centered, holistic services in collaboration with the greater community.

Our Vision

Family Promise of Greater Rochester will have achieved success when affordable, decent, equitable housing is seen as a human right and every family has a place to call home.

Our Programs

Prevention & Diversion - provides funding assistance to prevent a family from homelessness or eviction, or a security deposit to divert a family from entering shelter; families are supplemented by case management services to ensure they remain stably housed for up to one year.

Shelter - utilizes six apartments in the community to provide families the support and case management they need to secure safe, stable housing.

Transitional Housing - provides consistency and stability for children and gives families time to establish a positive rental history for up to two years; families pay at- or below-market rent for FPGROC housing while building skills and confidence by accessing community resources on financial education, credit repair, and employment stability; some of these families will even work toward home ownership.

Aftercare & Stabilization - offers up to one year of case management to ensure families maintain housing and self-sufficiency after housing vulnerability or homelessness and can provide additional resources or community referrals.
