Frankie … a legend of a dog.

Frankie was the very first SNARR Northeast dog, the dog who started it all. The dog who helped me find my passion and started the little rescue that has now become national. Thank you to our amazing supporters, SNARR rescued just over 1250 dogs, 75 cats ….and one 375lb POT BELLIED PIG in 2021 alone.

It’s incredible how far we have come!!!

I will never forget first meeting Frankie, walking through the hectic halls of the NYC Animal Control. All of the dogs were going crazy barking and jumping and he was sitting there, as calm as can be, falling asleep sitting up. The kennel worker told us he was deaf. He had gorgeous crystal blue eyes and one adorable black spot at the base of his tail. I made a promise that I would try to help get him out of the shelter…and I did. After meeting Frankie, I returned the next day to adopt him and the rest is history! I wanted to help more, do more…truly make a difference, and SNARR Northeast was born.

Frankie has the legacy of being responsible for saving thousands and thousands of dogs over the last decade. SNARR celebrated our 10th anniversary in October and we are looking forward to the next 10 years!!! We are so grateful for our ever growing supporters and donors.

Unfortunately, after 10 years of being our beloved and amazing family pet, Frankie passed away on December 5th 2021. We have started Frankie’s Fund to continue his legacy and help thousands more needy animals in the future.
