Celebrate Freedom and Community! Give Today to Support Freedom Day 2026!

The Freedom Day Festival in Vadnais Heights is a vibrant, one-day community celebration of Juneteenth. The event is organized by the Vadnais Heights Community Action Network-a group of neighbors aiming to make Vadnais Heights and the surrounding region an inclusive and welcoming place to live. What started as a neighborhood effort has grown into a citywide tradition that brings together hundreds of people each year to celebrate unity, culture, and hope from all over the Twin Cities.

Last year’s festival welcomed more than 500 attendees who enjoyed live music, free food, family activities, and educational exhibits that shared powerful stories of Black history and resilience. The event earned outstanding feedback for creating connection and pride right here in our community. The good news is we plan to do it again in 2026!

As we plan the third annual festival, we’re inviting partners and donors to join us in keeping this tradition thriving. Every contribution—big or small—helps us offer free family programming, a community meal, local entertainment, and educational opportunities that make Freedom Day a celebration for everyone. Together, we can continue to honor history, strengthen community, and build a future rooted in freedom and belonging!
