Much like Harriett Tubman, who relied on the strength of her network as she navigated the Underground Railroad, historian Anthony Cohen and his team are counting on your generosity to complete the 750-mile walk to Canada from May 4 to July 4, 2026. A pledge-per-mile for the #FreedomWalk2026 will help fund food, lodging and transportation for the Journey To Freedom statue, as well as preserving American history during our nation’s 250th commemoration.

FOOTSTEPPERS, A Penny a Mile — $7.50

Every penny counts on the road to freedom.

LANTERN LIGHTERS, A Dime a Mile — $75

Illuminating the journey makes history possible.

CONDUCTORS, A Dollar a Mile — $750

Individual leadership provides vision and commitment to the cause.

THE TUBMAN CHALLENGE, Ten Dollars a Mile — $7,500*

We need at least 10 organizations to take this journey with us.

GUARDIANS, Twenty Dollars a Mile — $15,000*
