A Gift to Scottsboro. A Legacy for Generations.

Two Sisters Collective exists to support the arts, strengthen community, and create cultural experiences throughout Jackson County and Northeast Alabama.

From live music and songwriter nights to family movie nights, educational programming, cultural events, and community gatherings, our mission is simple:

To support the arts, strengthen community, and create cultural experiences.

At the heart of that mission is Two Sisters Square, an intimate outdoor listening venue located in the heart of Downtown Scottsboro.

What many people may not realize is that Two Sisters Square was not funded by taxpayer dollars.

It was a gift.

The creation of Two Sisters Square was made possible through the generosity of the Bynum Foundation as a tribute to the legacy of the Bynum sisters and their love for community, culture, and Scottsboro.

Approximately 90% of the development of Two Sisters Square was funded by the Bynum Foundation, creating a beautiful public gathering space dedicated to music, arts, culture, and community.

The remaining investment came from the City of Scottsboro to provide public restroom facilities that serve both event guests and downtown visitors throughout the year.

Because of this remarkable gift, Scottsboro received something truly special — a permanent home for music, arts, culture, and community gatherings in the center of downtown.

Unfortunately, there has sometimes been a misconception that the city diverted funds from other projects to build this venue.

That simply isn't the case.

Two Sisters Square was a gift to the people of Scottsboro.

A gift that honors the memory of the Bynum sisters while creating opportunities for future generations to gather, celebrate, learn, and connect.

And the generosity didn't stop there.

After the venue was completed, the Bynum Foundation once again stepped forward to provide the startup funding needed to launch programming, purchase equipment, support artists, and begin building what would eventually become Two Sisters Collective.

Those startup funds allowed us to plant the seeds.

Now we need the community's help to help those seeds grow.

Why We Need Friends of Two Sisters

While the venue itself was a tremendous gift, creating meaningful arts and cultural experiences is not free.

Every concert, movie night, educational program, community gathering, and cultural event requires funding for artists, sound equipment, staging, technology, licensing, operations, marketing, and guest experiences.

Simply put:

Music, arts, and culture are worth investing in—but they require ongoing support.

That is why we created Friends of Two Sisters.

Friends of Two Sisters are individuals, families, businesses, and community partners who believe that Northeast Alabama deserves access to high-quality arts and cultural experiences close to home.

Every contribution directly supports:

Live music and songwriter performances
Family movie nights
Community festivals and special events
Artist support and programming
Educational and cultural experiences
Equipment and venue improvements
Volunteer and community engagement initiatives

About Two Sisters Collective

While the City of Scottsboro owns the physical property, the programming and cultural vision are being led by Two Sisters Collective, a nonprofit organization created to serve our community through arts and culture.

Two Sisters Collective was born from a simple belief:

Small towns deserve great music, meaningful art, and cultural experiences that bring people together.

What started as a vision for an intimate gathering space on the courthouse square has quickly grown into something much bigger—a grassroots movement centered around music, storytelling, community, and the arts throughout Jackson County and Northeast Alabama.

We believe culture matters everywhere—not just in major cities.

In communities like ours, music has always been part of the fabric of life. Songs, stories, traditions, and shared experiences connect generations and create a sense of place. Yet too often, rural communities are overlooked when it comes to arts investment, creative opportunities, and cultural spaces.

Two Sisters Collective exists to help change that.

Through live music, educational programming, artist support, community events, and creative partnerships, we are building a place where artists can be heard, people can gather, and meaningful experiences can happen close to home.

We believe the arts strengthen communities.

We believe they support local businesses.

We believe they inspire future generations.

We believe music and storytelling bring people together regardless of age, background, or beliefs.

Most importantly, we believe Northeast Alabama deserves a thriving cultural future.

Two Sisters Collective is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to building strong partnerships, expanding community programming, and creating long-term opportunities that enrich and strengthen our region.

This organization is being built by people who care deeply about this community—artists, volunteers, local businesses, supporters, and everyday citizens who believe small towns can create extraordinary things together.

The seeds have been planted.

The roots are growing.

And we believe something special is beginning to bloom.
