Giving Tuesday happens just once a year. It is an opportunity to support the organizations that support our communities all year long. Friendship Community Place is excited to partner with you on Giving Tuesday 2025 for the first time ever!

Friendship Community Place is a 501c3 Not for Profit that was birthed from the imagination and commitment of Friendship Presbyterian Church. It is a hyper-local neighborhood hub on Chicago’s NWSide designed for multi-use partnerships that promote equity, justice and provides resources and public programming for our neighbors in the building at 5150 and in the wider NWSide community. Our resources include free weekly community meals, a love fridge and small pantry as well opportunities to build skills and capacity through our Kitchen Krewe program. Public programming includes advocacy opportunities, civic engagement and the arts.

Every week Friendship Community Place serves an average of 200 meals to our neighbors through our community meal program? Each meal costs about $1.75 because it is supported by a team of dedicated Kitchen Krewe who volunteer around 38 hours a month to prep, cook, and serve these nutritious and delicious meals under the supervision of our kitchen manager.

$150.00 stocks a shelf in our love fridge for a week!

Friendship Community Place provides a love fridge and pantry that is stocked from our Kitchen Krewe meals, purchased items, and donations. This fridge is open to the public and anyone who needs a meal, some fresh produce, protein, or supplementary items for their familiy can stop by during open hours and take what they need. It costs about $1,500 to stock a shelf for a month

$1,000 buys raised garden beds to help us bring fresh vegetables directly to our kitchen and love fridge

Friendship has a small pollinator garden that we want to expand to grow vegetables to supplement our community meals and provide in our love fridge!

A donation of any amount will help us continue to walk alongside our friends in our community. These are challenging times but we know we can continue to compassionately serve, collaborate, offer programming, and nourishment.
