It all started with a mispronunciation.

As a kid, I couldn’t say the word “drink” correctly. For some reason, I'd say “frink” instead. Little did my parents know, that small slip would one day become the name of my coffee brand.

Origin Story —

Coffee has been a part of my life for over a decade. I got my start as a barista 11 years ago, long before I became a graphic designer, photographer, and creative director. Even as my career evolved, coffee stayed with me—always close by, always inspiring me.

In 2021, I began sharing drink tutorials online, something I still love creating. But over time, I realized I didn’t just want to show the drinks—I wanted people to experience them.

That led to an idea in December 2022: a small holiday gathering where my sister (and personal baker), Tara, handled the desserts and I made the drinks. What started as a simple get-together turned into a series of pop-ups: first in Harlem, then the Bronx, and finally my hometown of New Rochelle, NY.

Just as things were picking up, life shifted. God placed it on my heart to move back to Florida, something I always knew I would do- just not when. Now, nearly two years later, it feels like the right moment to take everything I’ve learned and begin building the next chapter of Frinks Coffee.

Brewing Connections through Coffee and Creativity

Frinks Coffee isn’t just a coffee brand: it’s a creative community fueled by warmth, wonder, and the art of turning mistakes into masterpieces. Born from a simple mispronunciation (“drinks” → “Frinks”), the name reflects everything Frinks stands for: embracing imperfection, celebrating play, and showing up authentically.

This project is rooted in the desire to bring people together through flavor, culture, and creativity. Some parts of this vision are already in motion, while others are long-term goals, but every step is a part of the journey and I’m grateful to bring you along.

What We Stand For

🎨 A Space for Creativity
Creativity is a vital form of self-expression. Through events and dedicated studio spaces in a future brick-and-mortar location, Frinks Coffee aims to be a cultural and creative hub where people can connect, collaborate, and be inspired.

☕ Primarily House-Made Syrups
We are developing our own house-made syrups to ensure every drink delivers consistent quality, flavor, and creativity. While we’ll start with pre-made syrups, the goal is to fully transition to our house-made creations as we grow.

🌱 Primarily Plant-Based
As someone who consumes little to no animal products (pescatarian here!), I want Frinks Coffee to be a space where plant-based diets are celebrated and everyone has delicious, thoughtful options to enjoy.

🌴 Black American + Caribbean Flavor Influence
Black American and Caribbean flavors are at the heart of Frinks. Growing up in a Black American household with Southern roots, and later discovering my Caribbean heritage (The Bahamas and Cuba), has shaped the flavors I love and create. Expect everything from tropical brightness to soulful Southern comfort.

Where We're Headed —

Frinks is launching as a coffee-catering and pop-up company, centering community experiences like open mics, co-working sessions, and creative gatherings. As someone who has worked remotely for years, I know firsthand how meaningful it is to have spaces where we can create together and feel supported.

Long-term, the dream is bigger:

A brick-and-mortar creative hub
A co-working environment that feels warm, inspiring, and accessible
Studio spaces for photography, videography, and podcasting
A full line of Frinks house-made syrups crafted with care and culture

The heart behind all of this is simple:
to brew connection, creativity, and community into every part of the Frinks experience…now and in the future.

Funding Goal and Breakdown —

I’ve been self-funding Frinks Coffee from the very beginning, with no loans or outside backing. Much of the photography and design work you see has been created by me, and I’ve been grateful for the friends who have helped photograph a few of my events. My background in photography and graphic design has allowed me to save significantly as I’ve built this vision from the ground up.

Now, I’m raising $15,000 to take Frinks Coffee to the next level. Your support will go toward:
