Flagstaff Arts Collective (FLAC) is building a nonprofit community arts center where young people and adults can learn, create, teach, rehearse, perform, dream, collaborate, and belong.

And we have the opportunity to do it in a place already deeply connected to arts education in Flagstaff.

The former Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy campus offers more than 21,000 square feet of classrooms, studios, gathering spaces, and creative potential on nearly three acres.

For decades, this campus has been a place where young people discovered who they were through music, visual art, dance, theater, film and creative community.

In the afternoons, young people can arrive after school to study:

Music • Visual Art • Dance • Theater • Film • Literary Arts

In the evenings, the campus will become a creative gathering place for the entire community, with adult classes, workshops, rehearsals, artist studios, professional development, and collaborative projects.

Weekends will bring visiting artists, performances, exhibitions, intensives, workshops, and community events.

FLAC will also work to provide scholarships and accessible programming so that participation in the arts isn't determined solely by a family's ability to pay.

It's about creating a lasting home for the arts in Flagstaff.

Our Founding Campaign

We are launching the A Home for the Arts Founding Campaign with a goal of raising $500,000.

These funds will help FLAC establish the strong financial foundation necessary to open responsibly and build toward long-term sustainability.

$150,000- Secure & Prepare the Campus
Occupancy, facility preparation, inspections, initial improvements, and costs associated with opening the campus.

$150,000- Operating Reserve
A responsible financial reserve that gives FLAC stability as programming and earned revenue grow.

$75,000- Launch Arts Programming
Supporting the development and launch of youth and adult classes, workshops, residencies, and community programming.

$50,000- Scholarships & Access
Helping ensure that young people and community members can participate regardless of financial circumstances.

$50,000- Studios, Equipment & Creative Spaces
Preparing classrooms, studios, rehearsal areas, and shared creative spaces for artists and students.

$25,000- Organizational & Contingency Reserve
Providing flexibility for unexpected startup expenses and opportunities.
