Threads Weaving Dreams is a women-led, intergenerational collective rooted in Western North Carolina. We bring people, knowledge, and resources together to build livelihoods, preserve living cultures, and sustain community.

Threads is a place people come to create. A community member brings an idea. A maker brings a skill. An elder brings knowledge. Together, we explore what it will take to bring that work to life.

The Weavers Fund supports the people and the place that make this possible: our core staff and our Makers House.

Behind every idea that becomes a program or partnership is someone listening, planning, connecting people, managing details, and following through. This is the everyday work of Threads, and it takes paid time and a dependable home.

A team to help ideas take shape

Our staff work alongside community members, leaders, Weavers, and makers to understand what they want to create and help build a path forward.

They develop programs, build partnerships, connect people with resources, and keep the work moving from conversation to action. They also manage the administration, finances, communications, and coordination that allow the organization to function.

Your gift helps pay the core staff who carry these responsibilities giving them the time to nurture relationships, support emerging work, and see commitments through.

A Makers House to bring us together

The Makers House is the central creative home we are building for Threads: a place where people can gather, develop ideas, make products, share knowledge, and build community.

It is where makers can work alongside one another, where conversations can become collaborations, and where the collective has a home for its everyday work.

Your contribution helps us secure and sustain this space, including the costs of keeping it open, equipped, and running.
