Let’s Crank the Volume to Eleven!

Dust off the leg warmers, tease up the big hair, and turn up the volume—it’s time to celebrate the most iconic decade while making a meaningful difference in our community!

Our Miss 1980's Something Pageant brings together incredible contestants who are competing not only for the crown, but also to help raise funds for our nonprofit’s mission, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. Each contestant has committed to using their voice, creativity, and community connections to make a lasting impact and help children become handicapable.

The Need

Across Western North Carolina, children face life-changing orthopedic conditions, spinal disorders, sports injuries, limb differences, cerebral palsy, and other complex medical challenges. For many of these families, hope is found at Shriners Children’s Greenville, where they receive world-class pediatric specialty care regardless of their family’s ability to pay or insurance status.

The journey to healing often requires long drives, time away from work, and emotional and financial sacrifices. Yet every child deserves the opportunity to grow, play, and thrive without those barriers standing in the way.

Your support helps ensure that children throughout our mountain communities continue to have access to specialized physicians, innovative treatments, rehabilitation services, and compassionate care that changes lives.

Our Radical Vision

We believe every child deserves the chance to live an active, healthy, and fulfilling life.

Our vision is simple but bold: to unite our community through generosity, compassion, and a little bit of ’80s fun to help children receive the specialized care they need close to home.

The Miss 1980's Something Pageant and People’s Choice Campaign is more than a pageant—it’s an opportunity for contestants, their families, friends, and supporters to come together for a purpose greater than a crown. Together, we’re creating hope, celebrating resilience, and investing in the future of children across Western North Carolina.

Your Impact

Every vote makes a difference.

Every $1 donated equals one vote for your favorite contestant, but the impact reaches far beyond the competition.

Your donation helps support children and families who rely on Shriners Children’s Greenville for life-changing care. Whether it’s helping a child take their first steps after surgery, return to the ball field after an injury, receive specialized therapy, or gain renewed confidence through expert treatment, your generosity becomes part of their journey.

When our community comes together, lives are changed—one child, one family, and one vote at a time.
