Max Noir's Story

I was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease when I was 16 years old. Going from being an honors student to being unable to read practically over night, I spent the next 8 years going from doctor to doctor with the sole goal of surviving. My dreams disappeared, my goals shattered, and all that mattered was keeping my head above water. Taking a deep dive on my mental health, music was very literally, what kept me alive.

I wrote my single, "Losing My Mind" when I was 16, and I was in the thick of mental and physical unraveling. Attempting to transpose the sensation of complete loss of control and self into music, "Losing My Mind" was born after school on my mother's piano in Bucks County, Pennsylvania; my sole form of affective therapy at the time.

13 years later, I am 29 years old, and living a happy and healthy life in Uganda, East Africa. I am a professional Radio Host, Content Creator, and Musical Artist. It was only this year that I was able to add in a sense of hope to the song's hook, hoping to help ignite the spark in some of those who maybe feeling theirs diminishing. I am living, breathing, and thriving proof, that the other side of Lyme disease, chronic illness, and mental illness, can exist. Much love to you all this Lyme Awareness Month. <3

Love,

Max Noir
