Carteret County Public Schools will enter this coming school year $1.3 million short of what they need, jeopardizing the quality of education our students deserve. This gap comes in the wake of the a budget shortfall from local funds and threatens vital programs, essential positions, and the excellence our school system is known for.

Our Mission

The Carteret County Public School Foundation is launching a CRITICAL CAMPAIGN to raise $70,000 by August 1, 2024. These funds will cover the salary and benefits of our first Big Rock Teaching Fellow for the 2024-2025 school year, ensuring we continue to attract and retain top educators.

Why It Matters

The state of our schools impacts every person in Carteret County as the excellence of our schools is woven into the fabric of our quality of life and economic strength of our county. As we work to inspire our youth to chose education as a career, it is also our responsibility to ensure they have jobs here at home to return to and protect our standard of Excellent vs. Adequate.
