Hi friends,
It's taken me some time to readjust to life. For the past four years, I had gone up and back to Florida to be with my dad and make sure he felt safe and less alone.
On May 24, 2026, he passed away as I lay beside him. He was the example of character and integrity for my sons and me. He worked from childhood onward with one goal: to provide for his family. When he was applying to law schools, he got in everywhere: Harvard, Yale, NYU, etc., but he couldn’t afford tuition. NYU provided him with scholarships and foundation grants. They believed he would honor the gifts by becoming a lawyer who stood by his ideals. He never wavered.
At the Center for Trauma and Embodiment (CFTE), our unwavering intention is to make our trainings accessible to all who want them. We feel that making our trainings available to those who live in the communities they serve is central to our mandate as trauma care providers-it’s an ethical issue.
In memory of my dad, I am fundraising for CFTE's scholarship program. He would not have been able to succeed without someone offering him a chance.
