YOUR LIBRARY IS COOKING UP NEW EXPERIENCES
...one scone at a time

9-year-old Henry is always up for trying something new at the Southwest Regional Library. This spring, that something was a primer on British tea-time culture and a crash course in making scones…from scratch! His mom, Madelyn, notes this is a big shift for Henry. Her formerly picky eater is now trying new foods, entirely due to his discoveries at the library.

This is what today’s library looks like: opening new worlds, one experience at a time.

Since the 2025 launch of the Southwest Regional Library Charlie Cart mobile kitchen, over 1,000 library patrons like Henry have expanded their food knowledge – and their palates!
