Sierra Summit Foundation (SSF) was created from a simple belief: the outdoors should be accessible to everyone—not just those with the time, resources, or experience to find their way there.

Born out of years of leading guided trips through Sierra Summit Expeditions, we saw firsthand how time in nature builds confidence, resilience, leadership, and connection. SSF was formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to remove barriers and expand access to meaningful outdoor experiences for underserved communities, youth, and veterans.

Our mission is to use the outdoors as a platform for personal growth—supporting mental health, leadership development, community building, and self-confidence through hands-on experiences in nature. From day programs to immersive trips, we focus on meeting people where they are and helping them discover what they’re capable of when given the opportunity.

Every contribution helps us create safe, guided, and impactful outdoor experiences that can change how someone sees themselves—and what they believe is possible.
