Let us tell you about Habiba. Born into poverty in Morocco, Habiba was promised work picking strawberries in Spain—a chance to send money home to her family, to escape the grinding deprivation of her village. Instead, she found herself trapped; exploited, abused, voiceless. The Strawberry Girls is the voice of Moroccan women who, born into desperate poverty, seek hope and opportunity in Spain's agricultural fields, only to find themselves trapped in modern-day slavery. These women are promised legitimate work picking strawberries but instead face exploitation, abuse, and trafficking.

Habiba's story is why Finding Freedom through Friendship is adopting The Strawberry Girls as our seventh program. When you support The Strawberry Girls you are offering alternatives Habiba never had. The Strawberry Girls program shows us what happens when poverty wins—and why our prevention work is so critical. But it also gives us something powerful: a voice for the voiceless. The Strawberry Girls organization uses art, storytelling, and advocacy to expose trafficking and fight for survivors. Recently honored by Stop the Traffik with an international award, their work brings global attention to a crisis that affects more than 50 million people worldwide.

By partnering with The Strawberry Girls, FFF is making a statement: we will walk with the vulnerable at every stage—from the classroom in Egypt, widows in Guatemala to the strawberry fields in Spain. From education to emergency, from prevention to advocacy. Habiba passed away in 2025, but her story lives on through The Strawberry Girls. Now it's part of FFF's story too—and your story as our donor.
