In Person
Join us for an engaging artist talk with Kristan Woolford, the visionary behind "Free the Land" (2023). This striking HD video confronts gentrification, historical displacement, and the fight against colonization, alongside curator Greg Zinman. With a vibrant collage style, Woolford weaves together themes from Brazilian martial arts (capoeira), the tragic Indian Removal Act of 1830, and the spirit of hip-hop culture to provoke a vital conversation about our past and present. Dive deeper into Woolford's artistic journey and the impactful themes of "Free the Land," which debuted in July 2024 as part of the Cinédance! Conversation, moderated by Floyd Hall, Executive Director of Atlanta Contemporary. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with the minds that inspire change through art, illuminating the crucial intersections of history, culture, and resistance.
