The KGSA soccer team is back in action! During the pandemic, all school sports in Kenya were suspended. The girls are so excited to kick-off the soccer season and we need your support! Help us raise $3,000 to cover transport, meals and fees for the 2023 soccer season.

Background on the school: The Kibera Girls Soccer Academy (KGSA) provides a free, holistic secondary school education to 130+ girls annually in Kibera, Nairobi – the largest informal settlement in Africa. In 2002, KGSA started off as a soccer program to get at-risk girls off the street and into something productive. Over the years KGSA evolved into a multi-faceted school responding to the unique needs of girls in Kibera.

KGSA’s model cares for the whole girl - academics, extra-curricular activities, nutrition, healthcare, mentorship programs, college scholarships and of course SOCCER. KGSA unlocks potential, expands opportunities, and enables each girl with the ability to shape her future. We believe that local problems need local solutions and harness the power of the #girleffect to create a stronger, more resilient Kibera. Since 2006, KGSA has graduated over 370 girls including 70 who have pursued higher education and 5 who played for the Kenyan women's national soccer team.
