💡 I’m Shining a Light on Sickle Cell—For My Family, and the World
Hi, my name is Chanell Holness, and I’m the youngest of four children. I was born with the Sickle Cell trait, but all three of my older siblings were born with Sickle Cell Disease. Growing up, I’ve seen firsthand what they’ve had to go through—the pain, the challenges, the strength it takes just to keep going every day.
Watching them inspired me to speak out, raise awareness, and make sure more people understand this disease and how it affects lives. That’s why I’m pursuing a degree in Business Management and Public Relations—because I want to be part of the movement that brings attention, education, and change to the Sickle Cell community.
🎤 My Passions Keep Me Inspired
When I’m not studying, I’m either catching up on WWE wrestling (yes, I’m a super fan!) or listening to the queen herself—Beyoncé—whose talent and drive inspire me to dream big and go after everything I believe in.
🎓 What This Scholarship Means to Me
Winning the Warrior On The Rise Scholarship means so much. It’s more than financial support—it’s an opportunity to build a platform, to speak out for the community I love, and to help shine a light on Sickle Cell Disease and the incredible organizations that support those living with it.
This scholarship helps me get one step closer to making my dream a reality—to use my education, voice, and heart to help make life better for families like mine.
🌟 Help the Next Warrior Rise
This year, I’m one of 27 Warrior On The Rise scholars—a major leap from the 10 awarded in past years. That growth is only possible because of people like you who believe in our potential and our purpose.
When you support the Warrior On The Rise Scholarship Fund, you help students like me make a difference—not just in our lives, but in the lives of every warrior, caregiver, and advocate connected to this cause.
Thank you for supporting the mission—and for helping the next warrior rise.
