🖌️ I’m Using My Voice—and My Degree—to Raise Awareness for Sickle Cell
Hi! My name is Dontavious Newell, and I’m excited to begin my college journey at Clark Atlanta University, where I’ll be majoring in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Public Relations.
I’ve always loved being creative—whether it’s painting, writing, or simply spending time with friends who inspire me. But my creativity has a purpose: I want to use my voice and communication skills to bring attention to causes that matter—especially Sickle Cell Disease, which has impacted my life and the lives of those around me.
📣 What I Plan to Do
After graduating, my goal is to work as a public relations specialist in a clinic or hospital setting, using media, messaging, and storytelling to raise awareness about Sickle Cell Disease. Whether it’s crafting campaigns, coordinating outreach, or changing how the public understands chronic illness, I want to be part of the movement that helps bring visibility and compassion to our community.
