🩺 I’m Becoming the Nurse I Always Needed—Thanks to This Scholarship
Hi, my name is Josephine Jenkins-Brihm, and I’m a first-year nursing student with a passion for caring for others and a deep commitment to making a difference in the healthcare field. I live with Sickle Cell Anemia, and it’s shaped so much of who I am—my strength, my resilience, and my desire to help others through their most vulnerable moments.
My dream is to become a registered nurse who brings not just skill, but understanding and compassion into every patient interaction. I want to be the kind of caregiver who truly sees people, especially those who live with chronic illnesses like I do.
Outside of school, I stay grounded and creative by building Legos, listening to music, and journaling to reflect on my journey.
🎓 What This Scholarship Meant to Me
Receiving the Warrior On The Rise Scholarship has been a game-changer. It helped ease the financial stress of nursing school, allowing me to stay focused on my studies and training. But more than that, it reminded me that I’m not in this alone.
This scholarship is a powerful message: my work matters, my journey matters, and my dreams are worth investing in. It has given me even more motivation to push forward and continue on the path to becoming the nurse I’ve always hoped to be—one who uplifts, advocates, and makes others feel safe and seen.
🌟 Help Future Warriors Like Me Rise
This year, I was one of 27 scholars awarded the Warrior On The Rise Scholarship—nearly triple the number from previous years. That growth happened because people like you chose to believe in us.
By donating to the Warrior On The Rise Scholarship Fund, you help support future students like me—young warriors living with Sickle Cell Disease who are dreaming big, working hard, and ready to rise.
Thank you for helping us succeed—and for empowering the next warrior to take flight.
